Choo Choo!! Derek is turning 2!! WOW what an amazing party Derek had for his 2nd Birthday! He is such a sweet boy, and he is so loved.  Since Derek was turning 2, and we did a big party for his 1st birthday, we decided to do a small grandparents only type party.  Great idea on our part, we were able to have a few people here at our house, but still able for Derek to have an awesome birthday party.  One week before Derek's birthday party we decided that he needed a haircut. In the past we had always taken him to the barber shop and pay someone to cut his hair,  everyone is miserable, and  Derek hates it. Well I got the idea that we could do it ourselves, all we needed were some clippers, right... well not exactly. Doing at home was just as stressful as going to the barbershop, the only difference is we had no idea what we were doing. I put the wrong size on the clippers and cut his hair really short. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!! Derek's Birthday party was a success. I can't believe I am a parent of a 1 year old. I have to say I was a little nervous about the party and how Derek was going to react to it all, but he did really well. This day was a great day, and I feel so blessed to have the amazing family I have, and all the friends that came to share in this very special day with us. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, so I will let the pictures do the talking: They say you are supposed to make a wish, but all my wishes have come true! His awesome birthday cake!
