16 months old

It seems just like yesterday, we were celebrating you turning 1, and now you are 16 months old. You are a very curious, walking, talking little boy. You are always interested in what we are doing and check out everything in the house. You have to be where we are, and we are not allowed to do anything without you. You are the cutest when you are sleeping. You love to be held and snuggle.  Dylan cut 4 teeth this month, and it has been rough on all of us. They have not all broken the skin yet, but they are very close.  You love to laugh, play, and give wide open mouth kisses.  You love to watch Puppy Dog Pal with your big brother.  Your smile can light up any room.  You are the sweetest little one, and love to eat bananas.  Dylan loves to play with his brother and wants to do everything his big brother does. His favorite thing to do outside is swing. We also made the transition from bottle to sippy cup this month. It wa...

Life as usual

The month of January has come and gone, and here is a recap of all our fun activities. We had our first snow of the year, and the boys loved seeing it. Dylan only like it, as long as he was not touching it. Once you sat him in the snow, he was not a fan.  Derek, on the other hand, loved being out in the snow and would have stayed out there all day if we would have let him. I am not a fan of the cold, so  I was happy to go back inside.  For Christmas, Derek and I got robes, and Derek loves to match with me. He only wants to wear it when I am wearing it. Also if he wants to wear his, he will ask me to put on my robe as well. It is really sweet, and it just reminds me of how sweet this kid really is.  Then he had to get a picture with daddy as well. Derek is all about his dad right now and wants to do everything his daddy is doing. They are two peas in a pod.  Derek wanted me to take his picture, and I could not resist.  ...

15 months old

Time, I am going to ask you to slow down a little bit. You are allowing my baby boy to grow up way to fast.  I know this is a bad picture, but he looked cute and is walking all by himself. Nothing is going to hold him back now.  We got a swing set for Christmas and Dylan loves to swing.  See how happy he is.   We had our first snow for the year, and the boys really enjoyed it. Dylan liked to look at the snow and was in awe, as long as he was in the chair.  Once we put him in the snow, he lost his mind and was not a fan at all. He cried for 20 minutes after I brought him inside.  This handsome little guy is now 15 months old.  Its been a while since I have done a side by side, so here are both boys at 15 months.

It's Christmas Time

It's Christmas time!! Grace Place had a photographer come in and take pictures of the kids, and I requested the boys' picture be taken together, and I am so glad I did. This is a favorite that I will keep forever. Derek has been hit or miss on Jiu-Jitsu, as he asks if he has to go every week, and every week, we tell him that he has to go. I am going to try to not rush him so much and hopefully, that will make him more excited about going. Once he gets there, he does have a nice time, but I think he is resistant because he has a hard time listening. I think he understands some of the moves but not all of them. Time will tell how well he will do.  I think I have mastered the mantel for Christmas. I will add more as I go, but I am loving the lights and stockings hung, and at night, it is wonderful. I would like to have the fireplace going more often, but there is no circulation or blower, so the living room warms up really fast.   Grace Place had...

14 months old

Here we are in December, and we have a 14-month-old. He is almost walking. Today we saw him take 6 steps before he fell. He is gaining his confidence every day, and I predict he will be walking before Christmas. As I have said before, Dylan does not teeth very well. Recently he has had a runny nose and cough, and trouble sleeping, and today I noticed a tiny tooth making his way in. Poor Dylan, all things considered, he is handling it the best he can. Dylan is a really good eater. He does not like corn, and he is growing out of the prepared toddler meals we buy. He wants real food, and he is getting "chunky" Now the sippy cup is another story, I can't get him to take a sippy cup, no way, ain't happening. He has moved over to the toddler room at daycare and seems to be liking it really well. He is the youngest one in there, but he is taking care of himself. He likes to sleep on the toddler naps.

Recap of the last month

Image
WOW, where has the time gone? This last month has been crazy busy and hectic at work, plus I am taking a class, so all my free time, wait what free time...... I am back online, for an overview of all things that happened this past month. Dylan turned 13 months old and is finding his courage to take a few steps, but he isn't walking yet. Here is our 13-month-old. He can say nanna for Banana and will eat one every day if you let him. He can also say Mamma, Dadda, nigh nigh and wave bye-bye. He has 4 teeth and working on two more top teeth. Right before Thanksgiving Derek got really sick, well I say really sick, it was a 48-hour thing, but for Derek, it was really sick. Due to his fever being high, we decided to take him to the ER, which wasn't the best idea, but we felt like we needed to keep him safe. This trip reminded me why I HATE hospitals. but my kids come first and always will. The next day we stayed home from school and work, just to make sure he was feelin...

All About Dylan

Image
Since we just celebrated this little one's first birthday, I thought it would be fitting to do an All about Dylan post. How is he one, we just brought him home from the hospital yesterday? Dylan has 5 teeth, and he does not teeth very well. It takes him a long time to cut teeth, and they always bother him. Dylan is a great sleeper. He has some tough nights, mostly when he is teething, but for the most part, he is awesome. Dylan loves to cuddle before bed, and we still do our nightly routine, and he has no problem going to bed. Dylan has fully grown into the name of Dill Pickle or Pickle. Sometimes I will call him Dylan, but mostly it is Pickle, and it's really cute and fits him. The best part is that he answers to Pickle. He may have issues when he is older. LOL, You always plan what you are going to name and call your kids, but then sometimes something else comes up, and it sticks.  Dylan is very curious, and fearless. If he wants it or is interested ...
