The Rays of Sunshine

Holiday Season 2018 We had a fun-filled holiday season with fun, family, and relaxing.  Back in November, Derek got glasses and he is seeing the world in a whole new way.  We spent a lot of time in the grocery store, and I got a glimpse of him at 13.  He is getting so big.  We celebrated his best friends birthday.  This kid is just as silly as his brother and loves his mamma with his whole heart.  Derek had his first Christmas party at school and I loved seeing him interact with his classmates.  The weekend before Christmas we celebrate with family, and I would say Derek is pretty happy with his gift.  Dylan loved his little track as well.  I love doing life with you, my love.  Derek loves spending time with his cousin Carson.  Hat day for the win.  I love my crew. 

Its been a busy past few months, so there is a recap of what has been going on lately.  September:  Every year the fair comes to town and we try really hard to make a good time for the boys. This year when we planned to go, we got rained out. I had a hard time accepting the fact that the boys would miss the fair this year, so when the clouds broke for a short time, I suggested we make a run to the fair.  You know what, Not my best idea.  Everything was WET, and half the rides were not operating. There was a light drizzle, and after an hour it was miserable.  I did what I could to make a bad situation better. Derek seems to have had a good time.  Give Dylan all the water puddles, and he is good.  We also have 2 missing teeth. Derek lost his two front teeth within a 2 week period, which for his was perfect since Halloween was right around the corner. He now has " vampire fangs", and he loves it.  OCTOBER:...

It would not be true "mom" fashion of me to not post a birthday post 1 month later. Last month we celebrated Dylan's birthday and I am so pleased with how it turned out. As you know Dylan's nickname is Dill Pickle, aka "Pickle" so this year we embraced the theme and ran with it. How often can you throw a "pickle party".  It came together nicely and we all had a great time. Time can move so fast, and I want to look back and remember these days.  Here are a few things about each of our family Members.  -KINDERGARTEN ROCKSTAR-  Derek has been doing really good in Kindergarten this year. We have been practicing his sight words, and he is beginning the first steps in reading. We are so proud of him, and he is doing a really good job in school. I have seen him grow a lot with this first month of school. He loves the days he is a car rider, as he says the bus ride is long and hot. LOL  -VITILIGO- Derek has been diagnosed with Vitiligo, where his skin is losing color and pigmentation. We have started a skincare treatment, and we are looking to discover the root cause. This has required Derek to make a few trips to the lab for blood work, and I am so proud of how well he has handled the whole situation. Dylan, you are such a joy and such a little toot.  You are always on the move and does not like to be contained.   Even trying to get a sweet picture of you and your brother can be a challenge. You are determined to be the boss.  You love to do whatever your bother is doing, and sharing is not your strong suit. You like to get into things you are not supposed to, aka- brothers legos.  You must have a snack every day when we come home, and it is rare that I am able to get you still for a few minutes.  You have become a picky eater, and there are days when I will feed you peanut butter, just for peace of mind you have something on your stomach.  You are putting small sentences together and love to talk.  You like to be helpful and put things in their place.   Your favorite thing to do is throw things in the "trash" aka- the sink.  When you want "up" on the couch, you say "down", and "shal" (Marshal...

What a fun/ busy month this has been.  We went to Ethan's Birthday party at I Jump.  Had Pizza with grandpa.  Played hard at Kids Station the weekend before school. Dylan laid in a tunnel at Kids Station.  Derek got ready for his first day of Kindergarten.  Received love from the baby brother on the first day of school.  We enjoyed Mommy/ Derek time and celebrated the first week of school with a bubble tea.  Dylan found his love/ fascination with hats.  Derek created his own costume.  We finished out the month, crawling to the finish line, but we made it.
