San Diego, CA Part 1

Image
If you would have told me a month ago that I would be spending my 6 year anniversary in San Diego, CA, I would have laughed at you so hard, but guess what, I DID, and it was Awesome!!! Ricky's work wanted to send him to a conference in San Diego, CA, so we cleared it with both jobs, and I was able to go with him. We leave bright and early on Wednesday Morning to head to Texarkana, to catch our flight to Dallas, then from Dallas to California.  I was a nervous wreck, on the inside, because the last time I flew was in 2004. Back in 2004, I didn't have a child, and responsibilities waiting for me to come back home, so I was very anxious, but we made it safely.  We land in San Diego, with a temperature of 75 degrees, and NO humidity. At that moment, I wanted to move there. We took a shuttle to our hotel, and set out to tour the surroundings. We had dinner at this place right down the road called The Lazy Dog, and it was wonderful, I wanted to go back. After that, we...

24 Months old/ Derek Turns 2

Image
Choo Choo!! Derek is turning 2!! WOW what an amazing party Derek had for his 2nd Birthday! He is such a sweet boy, and he is so loved.  Since Derek was turning 2, and we did a big party for his 1st birthday, we decided to do a small grandparents only type party.  Great idea on our part, we were able to have a few people here at our house, but still able for Derek to have an awesome birthday party.  One week before Derek's birthday party we decided that he needed a haircut. In the past we had always taken him to the barber shop and pay someone to cut his hair,  everyone is miserable, and  Derek hates it. Well I got the idea that we could do it ourselves, all we needed were some clippers, right... well not exactly. Doing at home was just as stressful as going to the barbershop, the only difference is we had no idea what we were doing. I put the wrong size on the clippers and cut his hair really short. Fortunately for his party, it didn't look bad at a...

23 Months old/ Other things

Looks like I have returned to the blogging world.  It has been a busy past few months and a lot of things have happened. I have realized that I am not as good of a blogger that I had hoped to be and; I felt like my writing was not very good, and I kinda lost my desire for it, so I took a break. Here is a recap of what has happens, since I have been gone: Derek turned 23 Months old: We are in full swing of planning his 2nd birthday party, and let me tell you, it will be a good one. I will be sure and post about that one. We decided to go with the Thomas the Train theme, because right now Derek is all about Thomas. He is still not talking as much as I would like him to, but we are working on it. Each day we are working on saying a few words, and if there is one thing I know about my kids, is that you can't rush him. He will do it when he is good an ready to, I just have to be patient. I love having him around, he makes everything so much better.   New car: ...

Another Month passes, and we will soon be knocking on the door of a birthday party. We have moved from Barney to Thomas the Train, for which I am grateful. Not that I have anything against Barney, but I was ready for something different. Now to planning a Thomas the Train Birthday party, PINTREST! We are still working on learning new words, and we are slowly getting there! Once again, Derek will do this at his own pace, no one can rush him. We went and seen my brother and sister-in-law, in Tulsa, and we had a nice time. It brought up a few questions, how long do I want to wait to have another baby? Do I want another baby? How far apart do I want my kids to be in age....... To all those questions, it is something to think about, but I don't have those answers. Derek did great with Carson (3) and Corey (3 months), also shows me how much he loves people. We went to the zoo, which was more boring for Derek than I expected, so I was a little disappointed, but that is ok, on...

Praise of the day: week 5

Image
May 25th Family and vacation time! We have had a great time visiting family and being able to explore, and see how Derek will interact with his cousin Carson! It makes me see that one day he will make an amazing big brother! Today I Praise God for the little precious moments! May 26th Derek's crib soother!  What on earth would I do with out this soother. We take it EVERYWHERE! This is what get my baby to sleep every night. When the batteries are low, they are changed instantly. I dont have to break Derek of a pacifier, and sucking his thumb, but I will have to break him of this soother. May 27th  With the hustle and bustle of everyday, sometimes we need to take a moment to thank our Savior. Today and everyday, I Praise you, Lord, for all you have given me, and for dying on the cross, to save a sinner. You have blessed me in so many ways, I am so happy that I know you as my Lord and Savior. May 28th You know that moment you are driving down the road,...

Prasie of the day: week 4

Image
May 18th Today I am Praising God for my Dad. He has always been there for me, even when we were both hardheaded and stubborn, (that's where I get it from), he has always come to me when I have needed him. Sometimes I forget how much I am like my dad. He is the most hardworking, honest man you will ever meet. When I was growing up, so many people would complement  my dad and how they could see me in him, and to this day I still take that a one of the best compliments I could ever receive. So to my Dad, for being you! May 19th As I travel to and from Little Rock today, I am able to sit on my couch and Praise the Lord for my safety as I travel long distances. May 20th Today as I was frantically working on this spreadsheet, that I use daily, I noticed a mistake, and all the fear comes up in me, then as I  start to panic, I realize, OK I didn't just mess up big time, Praise you Lord. LOL   May 21st Quite Time! Need I say more?   May 22nd Praise T...
