The Rays of Sunshine

We knew it was a long time coming, and the day is finally here. Derek started Kindergarten on August 13th. I have been a whole ball of emotions for about a week now. I did my best to arrange where I would be able to pick him up and have mommy/ Derek time, and when that fell through, I feel apart.  Not only do I have to send him to Kindergarten, but I also have to entrust other people to transport my son to daycare via school bus. This stirred us so many emotions, and I worked my way through them all up until 5:00pm on August 13th. It was much harder on me then it was him, as I wanted him to know how AWESOME he was and how he was going to do so great. Here we are buying school supplies. In honor of Derek turning 6, we wanted to do something very special for his birthday. We decided to take a family trip to Dallas and do all the things a 6-year-old would love. We headed out Friday afternoon to begin our fun-filled weekend in Dallas, TX. We were all so excited, but 3 hours in a car is a very long time. We finally made it to the Rainforest Cafe.
