January Recap

Image
A few things happened this month that I didnt get around to posting about, so I have decided to do a monthly wrap up. This Month my parents celebrated their 30th Wedding anniversary, and I was in charge of getting everything organized. With the help of my aunt, we were able to pull it all off and my mom was very surprised. I am so proud of my parents, they have been through a lot, and I am so happy that I was able to help my dad set this up for my mom. My brother was able to come down, with Carson of course, and Derek was so excited to see him, if you can tell by the picture.  I told Derek that we were going to go see Carson, but I had to stop by my aunts house to pick up some stuff before we headed to see Carson. We get inside, Derek goes to every room in the house, comes to me and says "Carson's not here". He was so disappointed, but the moment he seen Carson, he lit up, and for the rest of the night, they were inseparable. My Wonderful family:

Life as usual

We have been pretty much enjoying life around the Ray house.  A few weekends ago, Derek went to stay the night with his grandparents, and I saw this on another blog, and thought I would give it a try. I took an old box, cut holes in the top of it, and then put a string of Chrsitmas lights through the holes. Derek Loves it. I had it in a spare room, and the other night I caught Derek trying to move it to the living room. He now calls it our, "tree", because it is sitting where our Christmas tree used to be. Every morning, this is where he eats his breakfast. He also likes for us to get in there with him, but that gets a little crowded.    Did I mention how much this child loves Chili. I was afraid he would not like, but I wanted to him to try it.  He loved it.  He kept saying, " I eat it all." Not only does he love some chili, we are mastering drinking out of a cup, and he is doing really good. I am so proud of him.   This kid is all boy. He

Being a boy mom

As I am making my way to bed, waking the hallway, I see all these cars, and trucks lining the hallway, blocks and racetracks built in his room, and I am remind of how I am so lucky that I get to be the mother to the sweetest little boy in the world. I love how he says " I lobd you" and "kisses" and how he will ask you to build a tunnel, but knocks it down before it's even finished, then will instantly turn to you and say "I sorry" as he is giving you more Hugs and kisses, and it melts my heart that he wants me to "play" and "sit" with him. To him I am his whole world, and of me, he makes every day better.  Thank you  God for making me a Boy Mom.

Happy New Year!

Yes I know I am a little bit late, but better late then never, right. WOW we had a wonderful Christmas. It is times like this that I am reminded of how blessed we really are. Having Derek in Daycare, and the love and devotion they show him has been amazing, and I have loved all the crafts he has brought home.  It has been wonderful to see how creative they are with him, and how evolved he gets with it comes to his craft projects.  We had a wonderful Christmas break. On some days we took Derek to daycare, to keep his schedule, and other days he stayed home with us. It was nice all the way around, but Ricky and I got to spend a lot of time together, being US. It was a wonderful way to spend the Christmas break. Derek got a ton of toys for Christmas, from all kinds of family members, so his room is loaded with toys, however, every night we go into his room, and we get it all organized and back in order. Derek is right in the middle of it, and every night he melts

Shoes and sauce

What one earth does that mean? Since we spend a lot of time in the kitchen, Derek is often in there with us. Once night we were making dinner, and he wanted to help, so I gave him a pan and a spoon. We go on about cooking dinner, and he comes to me and says "mommy, I making sauce."  I have no idea where he came up with this idea, but by the time it was all over, Derek had water, a little bit of flour, a few trucks, and a toy elephant in his sauce, so we called it Elephant Sauce. This baby was proud of his sauce.  As far as shoes go, Derek has gotten into the habit here lately of walking around in everyone's shoes. Every time I turn around, he is wear a different pair of shoes. He also found a box of his shoes that are to big, and he will walk around with two different shoes on. He will disappear for a little bit, come back with 2 new shoes on. I tell you there is never a dull moment with this kid. I would not trade these moments for anything.
