Chicago Trip 2018 - Part 3

Sunday

Although Sunday was a good day, I think we were both ready to come home. We still had quite a few things left to do on Sunday, but the homesickness was setting in, at least for me. Derek has been sick the whole time we have been gone and only starting feeling better yesterday, so that was weighing on my mind, but I pushed that aside and we begin our last official day in Chicago.

Our plan was to go to Wildberries for breakfast but once we got there, it was an hour wait. So we begin to scramble to find another place to eat and discovered that a lot of eating places are closed on Sundays downtown.
Out of no other options, we wind up eating in a hotel lobby, where we shared one of the most underwhelming breakfasts of the whole trip.  The breakfast potatoes were good, but hey, it fed us.
Today we had planned to visit the Shed Aquarium, the Science and Industry Museum, eat at Portillo's, and take in more of Chicago before we left.

We headed to the Shed Aquarium and quickly decided that it would be better for us to take our time, enjoy our day,  and not rush around to do everything. This was the best decision. We were able to slow down, relax, and enjoy.

The whole time we are going through the aquarium, we kept thinking about the boys and how much they would love visiting the aquarium.

We got to see a beluga whale. He was so active, I could not get a good picture.

We had to play in the gift shop.

After the aquarium, we took an Uber to Portillos.
This was a neat experience, and it was a very popular place. I forgot to get pictures of our sandwich.

After we ate, we headed back towards downtown, explored the 4 story mall, and headed back to our room.

We didn't have any dinner plans, and to be honest, we were tired, so nothing sounded good.
We ate the pizza leftover in our room, then headed to Eataly for some Gelato. You guys, it was AWESOME!!

After that, we packed up our room, watched some TV, and went to bed.

Monday we finally made it back to Wildberries, for our last meal in Chicago, and it did not disappoint.

Farwell Chicago, for now, we will be back.
