February Recap

We have had a fun month full of lots of family time. 


Just a dad and his Mini-Me. 



I told Ricky that we needed to take more pictures together, so here we are. 



One night, I was cleaning out Dylan's closet, and it became a family thing, complete with cool shades.  Brother is waiting patiently in the background for his turn with the shades. 


I am donating a lot of baby items, but Derek had to try it out, one last time. My how he has grown. 


I working on a few things, and walk into the room and see this, sweet brotherly love. 


We also meet up with our friends for a movie date to see The Lego Movie 2. 


At the end of the month, we had back to back parties at IJump. Derek really wanted to master the climbing wall, but he just didn't have the confidence. 


The next day he got this high, and he was so proud of himself. Dylan also found his love for IJump, and we played in the play area the whole time. 


Motivating Derek to go to Jit Juitzu has always been a struggle, but this week it paid off, as he gained another stripe. He was so proud of himself, as was I. I feel like this is one of the best skills he can learn. Now if we could just master the Ninja Roll. 


We made a quick trip to Target and found this SpiderMan watch, and Derek now calls himself the "Time Master". 



We finished out the month with a weekend at home, and the boys managed to play independently most of the weekend. It was wonderful. 


I was able to get some scrapbooking done, and 


have a fresh clean bed waiting for me Sunday night.

After a fair nights sleep, I wake up the next day in San Diego, and the moment my feet hit the floor they start screaming at me, oh they HURT. Ricky had to be at his conference early, so I seen him off, and I began to start my day, but I was slow moving. I could not get motivated to get out of the room. Finally I made my way down stairs, and headed to Starbucks for breakfast. After that I hopped on a bus and headed to the San Diego Zoo. Thanks to Google Maps, and my GPS I knew right where I was going and when I needed to get off the bus. It was a lifesaver. How did people travel to a new city before Google maps, LOL. I actually got off the bus a little early, but the weather was wonderful, so I didn't mind it to bad.    Now if you have ever heard of this zoo, you know it is a well known zoo, and it should be, it was great, and HUGE!!! Instead of showing tons of pictures of animals, I will only show a few and move on. I spend all day

16 Months Old

Derek is now 16 months old, and I am ashamed to say that I have been slacking on the picture taking, the note taking, and all the awesome stuff he has been doing as he is getting older. Is it because I don't care anymore, absolutely not. We are living life, and having fun, and I have just let the "blog" side of it go to the back burner. Even though I would like to be done with the every month update, I feel like I need to keep it up, at least till he is 2. Who knows, by then this "dry spell" may pass, and I will be back on my game. We do have the holidays coming up really soon and that is my favorite time to take pictures, so I am sure it will pick up. So for now, here is my little boy at 16 months old. Currently everything is "Mamma", we are trying to get him to say more words, but nothing has stuck just yet, other than "yeah", and that is my mistake, and I am trying to correct it with "yes". 24 Months old/ Derek Turns 2

Choo Choo!! Derek is turning 2!! WOW what an amazing party Derek had for his 2nd Birthday! He is such a sweet boy, and he is so loved.  Since Derek was turning 2, and we did a big party for his 1st birthday, we decided to do a small grandparents only type party.  Great idea on our part, we were able to have a few people here at our house, but still able for Derek to have an awesome birthday party.  One week before Derek's birthday party we decided that he needed a haircut. In the past we had always taken him to the barber shop and pay someone to cut his hair,  everyone is miserable, and  Derek hates it. Well I got the idea that we could do it ourselves, all we needed were some clippers, right... well not exactly. Doing at home was just as stressful as going to the barbershop, the only difference is we had no idea what we were doing. I put the wrong size on the clippers and cut his hair really short.
