All About Dylan

Since we just celebrated this little one's first birthday, I thought it would be fitting to do an All about Dylan post.

How is he one, we just brought him home from the hospital yesterday?


Dylan has 5 teeth, and he does not teeth very well. It takes him a long time to cut teeth, and they always bother him.



Dylan is a great sleeper. He has some tough nights, mostly when he is teething, but for the most part, he is awesome. Dylan loves to cuddle before bed, and we still do our nightly routine, and he has no problem going to bed.




Dylan has fully grown into the name of Dill Pickle or Pickle. Sometimes I will call him Dylan, but mostly it is Pickle, and it's really cute and fits him. The best part is that he answers to Pickle. He may have issues when he is older. LOL, You always plan what you are going to name and call your kids, but then sometimes something else comes up, and it sticks. 

Dylan is very curious, and fearless. If he wants it or is interested in it, nothing will stop him from investigating it.

Dylan, we are so happy you completed our family.

After a fair nights sleep, I wake up the next day in San Diego, and the moment my feet hit the floor they start screaming at me, oh they HURT. Ricky had to be at his conference early, so I seen him off, and I began to start my day, but I was slow moving. I could not get motivated to get out of the room. Finally I made my way down stairs, and headed to Starbucks for breakfast. After that I hopped on a bus and headed to the San Diego Zoo. Thanks to Google Maps, and my GPS I knew right where I was going and when I needed to get off the bus. It was a lifesaver. How did people travel to a new city before Google maps, LOL. I actually got off the bus a little early, but the weather was wonderful, so I didn't mind it to bad.    Now if you have ever heard of this zoo, you know it is a well known zoo, and it should be, it was great, and HUGE!!! 16 Months Old

Derek is now 16 months old, and I am ashamed to say that I have been slacking on the picture taking, the note taking, and all the awesome stuff he has been doing as he is getting older. Is it because I don't care anymore, absolutely not. We are living life, and having fun, and I have just let the "blog" side of it go to the back burner. Even though I would like to be done with the every month update, I feel like I need to keep it up, at least till he is 2. Who knows, by then this "dry spell" may pass, and I will be back on my game. We do have the holidays coming up really soon and that is my favorite time to take pictures, so I am sure it will pick up. So for now, here is my little boy at 16 months old. Currently everything is "Mamma", we are trying to get him to say more words, but nothing has stuck just yet, other than "yeah", and that is my mistake, and I am trying to correct it with "yes". 19 Months Old

WOW I have a 19 month old child. That's crazy, awesome, and sad. My little boy is growing up so fast. My brother and sister-in-law just had their second child, and I was able to be there shortly after the baby was born, and it brought all those memories back to the surface. I am not ready to have another baby, but I was so happy to hold a newborn, and love on him, but it just reminded me of how fragile and tiny they are. As I see my 19 month old son run around, that is what I want to focus on, and how big he is getting.  We have snow!!!!! Its our first snow of winter, and here in the south, everything stops for snow. We had snow last year, but Derek was to small to enjoy it, so we were blessed with snow again this year, and Derk has a blast playing in it.
