9 Months Old

My baby is 9 Months Old!

1 day in and already some accomplishments and progress:
Today we got our first sippy cup!

 
Bath time was so much fun, he got in the tub and splashed and splashed, I think I was wetter then he was!
 
Finally, I laid him in his crib for bedtime and this is the first he has not cried right when I laid him down on March 29th and his is in his crib, playing and talking. I am happy about that, because he isn't CRYING! Of course that was short lived, he does still cry when I lay him down, but he doesn't cry near as long as he used to, which to me that is progress!
Derek's First Easter!

 

Derek has figured out his walker! He loves to go to the Kitchen and move the dog bowls where ever he thinks they need to do! I am so impressed of how good he does in his walker! If he wants to go somewhere he will position his walker in the right direction and go, so technically he is mobile!

As for the crawling, he will scoot on his arms and he gets his butt in the air, but he isn't " crawling", but close! It looks like he may be walking before he gets crawling down just because it looks like he has no motivation to crawl correctly!

 

Derek/ Hersey relationship: Its so funny how close these boys have become, as I was looking back at some of the pictures I have of Derek, is 85% of the pictures, Hersey is in the picture somewhere. Hersey has to be center of attenion which has also made him our photobomer a few times.

After a fair nights sleep, I wake up the next day in San Diego, and the moment my feet hit the floor they start screaming at me, oh they HURT. Ricky had to be at his conference early, so I seen him off, and I began to start my day, but I was slow moving. I could not get motivated to get out of the room. Finally I made my way down stairs, and headed to Starbucks for breakfast. After that I hopped on a bus and headed to the San Diego Zoo. Thanks to Google Maps, and my GPS I knew right where I was going and when I needed to get off the bus. It was a lifesaver. How did people travel to a new city before Google maps, LOL. I actually got off the bus a little early, but the weather was wonderful, so I didn't mind it to bad.    Now if you have ever heard of this zoo, you know it is a well known zoo, and it should be, it was great, and HUGE!!! 16 Months Old

Derek is now 16 months old, and I am ashamed to say that I have been slacking on the picture taking, the note taking, and all the awesome stuff he has been doing as he is getting older. Is it because I don't care anymore, absolutely not. We are living life, and having fun, and I have just let the "blog" side of it go to the back burner. Even though I would like to be done with the every month update, I feel like I need to keep it up, at least till he is 2. Who knows, by then this "dry spell" may pass, and I will be back on my game. We do have the holidays coming up really soon and that is my favorite time to take pictures, so I am sure it will pick up. So for now, here is my little boy at 16 months old. Currently everything is "Mamma", we are trying to get him to say more words, but nothing has stuck just yet, other than "yeah", and that is my mistake, and I am trying to correct it with "yes". 19 Months Old

WOW I have a 19 month old child. That's crazy, awesome, and sad. My little boy is growing up so fast. My brother and sister-in-law just had their second child, and I was able to be there shortly after the baby was born, and it brought all those memories back to the surface. I am not ready to have another baby, but I was so happy to hold a newborn, and love on him, but it just reminded me of how fragile and tiny they are. As I see my 19 month old son run around, that is what I want to focus on, and how big he is getting.  We have snow!!!!! Its our first snow of winter, and here in the south, everything stops for snow. We had snow last year, but Derek was to small to enjoy it, so we were blessed with snow again this year, and Derk has a blast playing in it. He really didn't know what it was, but it sure was fun.  There's nothing like the Love between a Father and his Son. This month has been a good month for our family.
