Timing is everything!

After we moved here to Texarkana, I knew that we would start looking for a new church to call home. Ricky had a few things he was looking for and I had a few things I was looking for, but knew in the end, we would have to find the right fit for both of us. After 4 different churches, we finally found a church that we both liked and have been attending there every since. Not only do we feel welcome, Derek also has a great class he attends also.
This morning we started a new series:
 Now that you have accepted Jesus into your heart, "What Now".

What Now? That is a very powerful question with an amazing answer.
  • Love one another
  • Tell everyone you meet, that Jesus Loves them.
  • Take any opportunity given to you, to tell them what God has done for you, and that he can do the same for them.
If that wasn't amazing enough, it is up to us, to share the Good News, with our kids. It is up to us to show them the way, and to teach them all that God has to offer to each one of us.
When we take our kids to Church, they get them for one hour, 1 day out of the week. In that hour, they are talking to our kids about the love of Jesus.
Now as parents, we have our kids many, many more hours than that, so how can we use all that time we have with our kids, to show them the love of Jesus. Its simple, they can see it in the way we talk, act, and in our own personal walk with Jesus. This will give our kids the light they need to walk down their own path.
Our Kids are watching our every move, I want to make sure my moves, reflect the love Jesus has given to me.

San Diego, CA Part 2

After a fair nights sleep, I wake up the next day in San Diego, and the moment my feet hit the floor they start screaming at me, oh they HURT. Ricky had to be at his conference early, so I seen him off, and I began to start my day, but I was slow moving. I could not get motivated to get out of the room. Finally I made my way down stairs, and headed to Starbucks for breakfast. After that I hopped on a bus and headed to the San Diego Zoo. Thanks to Google Maps, and my GPS I knew right where I was going and when I needed to get off the bus. It was a lifesaver. How did people travel to a new city before Google maps, LOL. I actually got off the bus a little early, but the weather was wonderful, so I didn't mind it to bad.    Now if you have ever heard of this zoo, you know it is a well known zoo, and it should be, it was great, and HUGE!!! 16 Months Old

Derek is now 16 months old, and I am ashamed to say that I have been slacking on the picture taking, the note taking, and all the awesome stuff he has been doing as he is getting older. Is it because I don't care anymore, absolutely not. We are living life, and having fun, and I have just let the "blog" side of it go to the back burner. Even though I would like to be done with the every month update, I feel like I need to keep it up, at least till he is 2. Who knows, by then this "dry spell" may pass, and I will be back on my game. We do have the holidays coming up really soon and that is my favorite time to take pictures, so I am sure it will pick up. So for now, here is my little boy at 16 months old. Currently everything is "Mamma", we are trying to get him to say more words, but nothing has stuck just yet, other than "yeah", and that is my mistake, and I am trying to correct it with "yes". 19 Months Old

WOW I have a 19 month old child. That's crazy, awesome, and sad. My little boy is growing up so fast. My brother and sister-in-law just had their second child, and I was able to be there shortly after the baby was born, and it brought all those memories back to the surface. I am not ready to have another baby, but I was so happy to hold a newborn, and love on him, but it just reminded me of how fragile and tiny they are. As I see my 19 month old son run around, that is what I want to focus on, and how big he is getting.  We have snow!!!!! Its our first snow of winter, and here in the south, everything stops for snow. We had snow last year, but Derek was to small to enjoy it, so we were blessed with snow again this year, and Derk has a blast playing in it. He really didn't know what it was, but it sure was fun.  There's nothing like the Love between a Father and his Son. This month has been a good month for our family.
